MORNING REGIME
Step 1: Face wash
Cleansing helps remove excess oil, dust, dirt, and pollutants from your skin, preventing clogged pores that can lead to breakouts. Your skin should feel refreshed, not dry or tight, after cleansing. Cleanse your face up to three times a day following the technique shown in this video for optimal results.
Step 2: Moisturiser(optional for oily skin)
A moisturizer may only be needed if your skin feels dry after using other products in your routine. Apply a thin layer, starting with the U-zone and ending with the T-zone.
Recommended Product: Hydravo Skin Renewing Moisturizer Cream is a light weight non-comedogenic option for acne prone skin.
Step 3: Morning Treatment Product
Use a treatment product with ingredients like Kojic Acid, Alpha Arbutin, Tranexamic Acid, or Azelaic Acid to help fade post-acne brown marks. Apply small dots across the face and massage gently. Avoid the area under your eyes.
Recommended Product: Aziderm 10% Gel has 10% azelaic acid that helps in reducing acne, inflammation and post acne pigmentation.
Available on prescription only
Step 4: Sunscreen
A lightweight sunscreen in a gel or fluid form protects the skin without clogging pores, providing crucial sun protection. Apply at least 30 minutes before going out. Use two fingertip-sized amounts, gently massaging to spread evenly. Reapply every 3 hours, and avoid heavy layering of products.
Recommended Product: Episoft AC sunscreen SPF 50+ is specifically formulated for acne-prone skin.
AFTERNOON REGIME
Wash your face in the afternoon if your skin feels oily. Suppose you can’t wash your face at the workplace, then wipe your face with cotton dipped in micellar water to remove excess oils and give an instant matt look. Re-apply sunscreen 30 minutes before going out in the sun.
NIGHT REGIME
Remove makeup with micellar water and wash your face folowed by moisturiser if neeeded as discused in morning routine.
Step 4 Night Treatment Product
At night, use Adapalene for stubborn acne, such as red or pus-filled pimples, numerous blackheads, whiteheads, or frequent breakouts. It is prescription-strength retinoid, to help prevent acne by increasing cell turnover and keeping pores clear.
Apply a pea-sized amount of Adapalene Gel 0.1% at night evenly over your face. If your skin reacts to adaplene then, follow the steps list below:
- Before applying adapalene gel, apply moisturiser to the entire face.
- Apply adapalene gel specifically to the areas affected by acne.
- If your skin tolerates it well without any adverse reactions, you can gradually increase the application to the entire face the next night.
- If your skin reacts (becomes dry, red, or irritated), reduce the frequency of adapalene application. Start applying it on alternate nights or even less frequently based on your skin’s tolerance.
- Additional Moisturization: For areas that are particularly dry or reactive, you can apply 2-3 layers of moisturizer to soothe and hydrate the skin.
Recommended Product:
Available on Prescription only.
