Description

Will it work?

It has ten natural anti-acne ingredients that work best against the red or pus-filled pimples. However, this might not reduce black/whiteheads, which usually respond to salicylic-based products. It contains:

  • Turmeric has antioxidant, wound healing and anti-inflammatory benefits as proven in many studies.
  • Tea tree oil has been shown to inhibit acne in various studies, and it is as effective as benzoyl peroxide in treating acne. It inhibits P.acne without affecting normal skin flora besides being anti-inflammatory. It can cause redness, dryness and irritation, especially in the sensitive skin. Should not be used in pregnancy and lactation.
  • Holy basil extracts from leaves and oil from seeds reduce acne due to linoleic acid content which has anti-inflammatory action.
  • Calendula officinalis or pot marigold has an anti-bacterial action against P.acne.
  • Cinnamon, when used in combination with honey, can reduce acne. In a study, it was witnessed that thyme, cinnamon and rose essential oils exhibited the best antibacterial activities.
  • Lavender oil not only imparts fragrance but also has anti-acne and anti-inflammatory benefits. However few might be allergic to lavender.
  • Neem has antibacterial and anti-acne benefits that might help in reducing acne breakouts in acne prone skin. However, if neem might not suit sensitive skin, patch test of the product is recommended before use.
  • Clove oil contains a substance called eugenol, which has antibacterial properties. However, clove oil might not suit sensitive skin types.
  • Camphor is approved by FDA for use in skin care products at a concentration between 3 percent and 11 percent. It is used in acne to soothe the inflammation, however, should be avoided on the sensitive or broken skin.

For which skin type?

Cannot determine with certainty because base ingredients are not mentioned on the package. The word cream indicates that it might be occlusive for oily skin type and should be used as a spot treatment( i.e. apply directly on the pimples).

Is it safe?

Cannot determine because base ingredients are not mentioned on the package.

Will it irritate sensitive skin?

Yes, it might irritate sensitive skin. Though the package recommends this cream for sensitive skin, we would recommend you do a patch test before using this product if you are prone to allergies, rashes or sensitivity breakouts.
